JACK HARLOW, OBAMA, AND MILEY CYRUS
What do they have in common? Tune in to find out
A new episode of Girl and the Gov, The Podcast is live – episode 201 to be specific. And in this episode, the hosts put on their ‘reflection hats’ and look back at some of the funnier, sillier, weirder moments that have happened so far. Looking to the future and the next 100 is also a part of the convo that takes a wild journey or two into dream and nightmare blunt rotations, and naturally lands on co-host’s Maddie’s favorite topic, Jack Harlow. Listen on Apple Podcasts and Spotify Podcasts, and watch on YouTube.
PS & BTW, next week the show is back with a guest – Rep. Pramila Jayapal to talk all about this piece of legislation
SOMETHING(S) TO MAKE NOTE OF
Bits and pieces from around the interwebs
Which state has the most veterans? These ones, as of 2022!
Rep. Matt Gaetz spread his career wings into…filmmaking…releasing a 13-minute documentary dubbed “Gaveled Out” depicting what was going down around the ouster of McCarthy from the speakership.
Senator Joe Manchin the menace has said see ya l8r boi to running for re-election in WV, opening up discussion about whether he’d run for president as an independent. However, all we can think about is how he killed the federal child tax credit - what a guy!
It’s retirement szn – with this one and this one, also saying see ya to Congress. Seems like a good time to consider running for office.
Earlier this week, SCOTUS heard this case, and this is how it went.
Something’s in the water in Missouri – some would say it could be corruption in the state House Speaker’s office
SOMETHING TO TAKE ACTION ON
Petition: Medication Abortion Access
Anti-choice extremists took themselves on a judge shopping spree, eventually landing on a notoriously extremely conservative court to hear their case against medication abortion – specifically Mifepristone, a safe and effective medication that’s been approved by the FDA for over two decades. The case, Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine v. FDA, garnered a result extremists rejoiced in, the blocking of FDA approval for the lifesaving medication. As of right now, the decision has not taken effect [good!], but it is a part of judicial ping pong on whether the ruling stays or goes. So, show that the initial ruling and striking down of FDA approval for Mifepristone is a no-go, by signing this petition from Reproductive Freedom For All.
ACTION REMINDER → Tell Congress to protect access to healthcare in rural communities and prevent hospital closures, by signing this petition from the Coalition to Protect America’s Healthcare.
