SOMETHING TO TUNE INTO
New episode featuring guest, Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal, available now
It’s Transgender Awareness Week, and this week’s episode of the pod brings awareness to the incredible need for a Transgender Bill of Rights. This need is one discussed at length and with personal anecdotes from Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal. The conversation and episode also shed light on what the current landscape for passing legislation of this nature is, illustrating the realities of conversations happening in the halls of Congress – one’s that further validate the need for the resolution. It’s an interview that begins around minute 20 of the episode, which can be watched on YouTube, listened to on Apple Podcasts, Spotify Podcasts, and just about anywhere pods are found.

POLITICAL PLAYLIST X ALEXANDRA LEVINE: Fake social media profiles have been popping up with the goal of sowing divides for quite some time, and they’re scarily realistic. JVN gets into what it was like IRL, the emotional toll, and what didn’t make it off the editing floor.
THE SKINNY CONFIDENTIAL X MAURICIO UMANKSY: The Gov Club Bravo Support Group thread is always poppin’ off, and that includes about RHOBH. This episode of The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Podcast gets into one of this season’s biggest storylines involving Kyle and Mauricio, and it’s the tea the whole chat needs.
SOMETHING TO TAKE ACTION ON
Tell Congress to pass the Equality Act
We’ve taken the liberty of making a small edit to the infamous quote from cinematic masterpiece She’s The Man, taking “we don’t discriminate based on gender” and updated it to “we don’t discriminate based on gender-identity or sexual orientation.” We don’t think they’ll mind. And now, we challenge Congress to do the same by passing the Equality Act, which would create distinct and explicitly anti-discrimination protections for LGBTQ+ people by law. Send your reps a note and tell them to pass the much-needed legislation.
SOMETHING(S) TO MAKE NOTE OF
Bits and pieces from around the interwebs
If George Santos were expelled from Congress, he’d be the sixth member to get the toodles, see ya later card – ever. If that happens, he’ll join this motley group of former members that were expelled for various reasons.
Warranted outrage continues following TikTok videos praising terrorist Osama Bin Laden spread like wildfire on the platform. Elica Lebon puts it best, here, and Malynda Hale does as well, here.
Apparently many presidents have been obsessed with UFOs… and it's interestingly been a point of unity between countries that usually go head to head… it all seems ~alien~ to us.
Twitter or as it’s called now continues to be a cesspool with its CIE – Cesspool in Chief Elon Musk throwing down antisemitic and racist tweets, garnering condemnation from the White House.
Susanna Gibson who ran for office in Virginia – and dealt with this insanity from the GOP during her race, has said she’s not done with politics – and we’re here for that.
